Q. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ATELIER AND A DEMO?

A. DEMOS are one (1) day observation seminars. Nicolas Jurnjack creates the styles in front of all participants and there is a question and answer session.
ATELIERS are hands-on practice workshops that take place over several days. Nicolas Jurnjack creates the style in front of the participants. Each participant then gets a chance to practice the techniques and realize the style that has been demonstrated. During this practice session Nicolas Jurnjack will mentor the participants, give advice and feedback on progress, and answer questions.

Q. I AM A BEGINNER IN HAIRDRESSING, OR I HAVE NEVER TAKEN ANY HAIRDRESSING COURSES, CAN I COME? CAN I REGISTER FOR ATELIER 02?

A. ATELIER 01 is specifically intended for beginners or first year hairdressing students. Nicolas Jurnjack recommends starting with the ATELIER 01, this workshop will give you the knowledge and skills needed to be comfortable and up to speed when attending ATELIER 02. However, some people who have a natural dexterity and learn quickly may be at ease with skipping ATELIER 01 and going straight to ATELIER 02.

Q. Is the hands-on practice done on live models?

A. In some of the ATELIERS practice will be done on plastic heads, in others the practice will be with live models.

Q. Are the products and tools provided?

A. No, you must bring your own material and your favorite products for ATELIERS. You will find a list of the necessary equipment HERE for each ATELIER.

Note: you don’t need to bring any material or products for DEMOS.

Q. I WORK IN AUDIOVISUAL/TV & CINEMA, as well as for INDIVIDUALS, WEDDINGS, EVENTS, ETC. ARE ATELIER 01 AND 02 INDISPENSABLE? WILL THEY BRING SUFFICIENT TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR MY NEEDS?

A. Yes. ATELIERS 01 and 02 cover all bases to comfortably meet such requests.

Q. Can I take notes during workshops?

A. Yes, of course. This is strongly recommended, you will not be provided with handouts.

Q. I CANNOT SPEAK THE FRENCH, CAN I ATTEND THE WORKSHOPS? WILL THERE BE WORKSHOPS IN ENGLISH?

A. Yes you can attend. Hairstyling is learned most often by watching and practice. Many assistants who work regularly during fashion week do not speak French but they work year after year and are more than competent to do their jobs at a high level.

Nicolas Jurnjack speaks English and he is planning workshops in English for the near future.

Q. Can I film and photograph the workshops with my phone or other medium?

A. In order to remain focused and out of respect to all participants you will asked to silence your phone and disconnect from the internet. Taking photos and filming during the workshop is not allowed.

However, during ATELIERS as soon everyone's work completed you will be able to take a picture of the style you have created.

Q. I would like to TAKE PART IN HAIR CHAMPIONSHIPS AND DO AVANT-GARDE STYLES. ARE ATELIER 01 AND 02 APPROPRIATE?

A. Yes, these workshops definitely offer a solid foundation. For hair championships and pushing the boundaries into the avant-garde I recommend building on this foundation, expanding your repertoire and technical skills to a higher level of competence so as not to limit yourself. Taking more advanced courses will afford you the skills and confidence to explore your inspirations to the full and successfully present your creative concepts.

Q. I AM 60 AND I WOULD LIKE TO FOLLOW THE NICOLAS JURNJACK WORKSHOPS. IS MY AGE A HANDICAP?

A. Absolutely not. There is no limit, age or other, on discovery, learning, expressing your self and blossoming in the creative universe that we all love.

Q. I AM DOING A COURSE in order to WORK IN DISTRIBUTION FOR MAJOR COSMETIC AND HAIR BRANDS. WILL THESE WORKSHOPs HELP ME IN THIS TYPE OF CAREER?
